I think the Flood pattern with the clipped beam would be great. You would need to combine it with one of our LED controllers. The controller will give you an adjsutable low beam, full power high beam. We can make it plug n play to your stock headlight connector.

Hmmmm...interesting. I have been thinking of installing some narrow beam LEDs under the truck independently wired. We travel East 800+ miles every year after Xmas and have been caught in some white-outs. Headlights and factory driving lights just blind me. Install one of these real low so it just lights up the road with headlights off and parking lights on during white-out just might do the trick. Maybe put your wireless rheostat on the dash for on coming traffic

That F40 is a good looking rig, why must you tempt me? any info on wattage yet? and I have been having battery issues since I installed the M60s and controller I got a couple months ago, Is there any amp draw from the controller when it's off? or is my battery on its way out? either way, I love these bright-ass LED man, good job!

The controllers do pull a small amount (20ma) of power even if off. We recommend using switched power (on/off with bike).

If you aren't using switched power you will need a trickle charger or just ride more

Where is it better to mount aux lights? Higher or lower?

I have an 08 KLR and I have choices of mounts to either go on the fairing (pointing where the headlight goes) or the forks slightly above the fenders (pointing where the wheel goes)

overall, I see pros & cons both ways. Up high, less likely to get smashed in a fall or hit by brush in the woods, but they arent "dynamic" and moving with the bike as I ride. I *feel* that the higher they are mounted, the better chance that ill be seen by oncoming cars and be able to throw the light further.

Down low, about the only pro I can see is the ability to move with the forks wherever im steering. I feel the throw could be slightly put at a disadvantage and at more risk for rock/brush damage.

Insight?

Does that include the Rotary LED Dimmer with High Beam Bypass? That may explain the degrade in battery performance after I installed the dimmer and the M30's on the GSA. Or the battery's just wearing out.

Those pitch black dips in the road get shallower the higher up you mount the spots.

I missed that there's an inmate discount when I placed my order. I'll definitely remember next time!

I installed a pair of M60s + dimmer on my F650GS over the weekend and while I've tried the lights out twice at night, I'm impressed both with the increased visibility other road users have of me, and how much brighter these lights are at night when on high. It's difficult to say exactly, but they seem to be twice as bright as the puny OEM high beam, and that's with the M60s still pointing to the ground a bit.

Anyway, I have a question - with the dimmer set to anything other than the lowest setting, off, or full, one of my lights makes an audible high pitched humming noise. The dimmer I bought is the "Rotary LED Dimmer with High Beam Bypass". Is this to be expected?
