I'd think so except Coma seems to have been caught out. If CdP also ends up getting caught out, I'd be inclined to think that it's something RB related instead of rider error.

I know tose Nihuil dueños! Hace rinden the re and went to with Dakar in 2011, with a quad.

That volcánic grey sand, at midday and in hot weather is quite tricky. Weather seems to be reasonably mild (30 desgrees Celsius), but after moving and marked with tracks gets really hard.

If so many are already gesting stucked, wa it for the late starters!

Is there some confusion about Ben Grabham's nationality? I was sure he was Australian but some quotes refer to him as a Brit...

From Dakar App:

12:30 Bikes: Grabham stuck in the sand?
British rider Ben Grabham has been stopped for several minutes in an area of large dunes, shortly after 280 km of the bike and quad special stage. He is likely to have got stuck in the sand. It should also be noted that the temperature is currently very high, slightly above 40°C according to forecasts.
12:24 Bikes: Pizzolito in the dunes
Argentinean biker Javier Pizzolito has also ground to a halt for the last few minutes in a zone of small dunes covered in what seems to be camel grass. He is currently stuck at the 266 km point of the bike/quad special stage.
12:14 Bikes: Botturi stuck?
Shortly after the 338 km mark, Italian Alessandro Botturi’s systems have sent out a signal stating he is immobile in the first area of dunes on the Dakar 2014. Slightly too far north in relation to all the other competitors, he may have become the first victim of the grey sands of Nihuil.

re the Israel, Guasch, De Souza, Laia group: They started within 4min of each other and I'm having trouble believing they all either crashed or have mechanical problems. My guess is the not-so-merry little band is lost, lost, lost.
