Congrats Mum! You must be so proud!
Still lurking plus jumping up and down and drinking, celebrating etc, etc, and so so proud of Sam, very well deserved with the amount of effort and training he never fails to put in to his chosen sport of rallying.

This stage and yesterdays stage are reasonably fast, maybe they prefer the solid over the clear shields?? I think that's why we see CD's solid shield today and yesterday but other pics of the his Yam have a clear shield. Hmm
The shield is for being able to see the front wheel in technical terrain. CD has had the solid fairing on since day 1 (also his water boy, Mege), Frans Verhoeven and Olivier Pain, also on a Yammies, have the transparent one.

Quintanilla :
in the 1st km there was some dust
very hot but well tomorrow the marathon with more dust and heat.

Need to take things easy its long way.
I believe it will go well, even though its far.

I had an accident as well damaging my roadbook
Took a corner too fast
I did not see CdP, I was monitoring my ride. One need to be careful in the sand and slippery conditions.

It was a fast stage I passed a few guys, then I stopped when
my bike got water sucked into my engine in a crossing that was between 0.5m and 1m deep!

Got a lot of help from the spectators to go go go!! and I left.

Impresionante: the No. people in the dunes

this country has great support for the riders.

Look forward to CHile.
Dreaming of Dakar
Everyone has a max speed, 90% of that max speed is much safer and easier, and if that 90% speed isn't fast enough at Dakar, you enter the snowball. - neduro

Likely. He was in that bunch with Laia, Israel, and De Souza shown not reaching CP-1 forever, then almost simultaneously L, I, & DS jumped into ASS, then, a bit later, their CP-1 times magically appeared.

clear vs white
seems to me with the big decals on the front there isn't enough clear left to make a difference,
So I would go with strength and durability

14:41 Cars: Technical problems for Sousa
News at last about Carlos Sousa who has still not reached the CP after 259 km of the car special stage: the Portuguese driver has been racing his Haval with a broken turbo from the 33 km point.
