Stéphane Peterhansel has dominated this special stage, finishing with a time of 3:52'05" and a lead of 46" over Carlos Sainz. Third place has gone to Nani Roma who has just reappeared on the radar, 7'25" behind “Peter”. This result is subject to confirmation, because no time has been recorded for him at the CP. Nasser Al-Attiyah is currently fourth, 7'39" behind the Frenchman.

Like something out of the twilight zone, not the Dakar.

Are you saying Pal Ander's bike was stolen?

#443 didn't start 'til 2h58m after Sousa (start time 10:55).

Now look at the map. I think he went to WP1, maybe WP2, then headed straight for ASS.

PlanetRobby retweeted a photo of him being towed but I can't tell if it's from today or yesterday.

Bummer, maybe next year they'll do a proper shakedown. Maybe even a few rounds of the FIA world championship to make sure it's up to the task. I'm getting more and more disheartened by this program's inability to really take the Dakar seriously (year round testing, well sorted cars, etc)

and the one guy who stayed with the bike shot himself? Or maybe the the others overpowered him and shot him?

It sounds very strange because I don't think Pal Anders would just leave his bike like that?
