15 minutes for first, 45 for second if memory serves. 45 would be a deal breaker for anyone hoping to win
yep.

The interesting aspect here is, WHAT component of the engine is it that is damaged?

"Change of motor" has in the past become a term of "definition" in some cases. Where once , the mere removal (of the engine) from the frame and subsequent repair of the engine (lifting of the cylinder or splitting of engine cases) constituted an engine "change"... even if it was the SAME engine that went back in.

THEN, (Aprilia i believe it was) got an exception to the rule apporoved... where you could "remove" the engine - under a scrutineers observation - in order to perform routine maintainence (in as much as the Aprilia twin cyl donk needed to be removed from the chassis in order to perform some tasks).

Depending on what is busted, what needs to be fixed, what is involved to do so and how good the KTM lawyers put forward their interpretation of the rules as written (goes looking looking) then maybe the engine repair is deemed not to be a change?

Then again... it may have just sh!t itself and they have to put another in...

Maybe that rock that hit his gear was not such a small thing after all?

Don't these guys take the engines and test them everyday in the bivouac? It might be the right thing to do given he is about to hit a marathon stage. A fresh engine could give him the ability to go balls against the wall without a worry...until later in the rally maybe.

Earlier in the day he said that he came round this corner into a heard of 4 cows (he said bulls but I think it was his English), all left the track but he nailed one and damaged his RB.

Remember all the "what engine is Cyril on now" shenanigins from a year or so back...?

It's started again...
