Just quick note from SMS from Jan Vesely (Yamaha, no.68) - he stopped on WP19 as he spotted another biker, who collapsed from his bike and was unconscious. He spent there time until arrived helikoptér, what they called to help. He think he will get the spent time back. But he helped another rider with broken leg and finally helped another one, who was without fuel. Quite tough day. Jan mentioned, that it was toughest day from all Dakar´s what he was riding so far. Very hot and engines were not happy about it. Dunes quite steep.

Ratz! All out of Tequila and my old truck says it doesn't feel like a winter road trip, anyhow.

The stress should ease a bit by ... ohh ... Valentine's Day or so.

Or not.

Hmmm - not having been... Does it seem like this is the family/civilized version of Baja? Or do they just drink less because even the fans have to make it for two weeks?

Argentina is a much more civilized country. Also the fans there are true fans, they know the racers numbers, stats, etc. They are true motorsports enthusiasts

Mexico I get the feeling it's just an excuse to party, which is cool too
