I dunno what that guy is smokin, WTF is a Norton Mercury? thats a 750 Commando drivetrain, surrounded by a pile of fuck.
I do like how they kept it rubber mounted tho, to cut down on the vibrations

Mercury was a 650, kind of hopped up. They were known as the "650SS" model from like 60-67 or something. The motor is potent, rest of the bike were made up of left over parts, but actually looked good. Kind of like a Triumph TR6 equivalent.

These were the predecessors to the Commandos. Commando would chew one up and spit it out.

that has a commando 750 head on it (they had an oil feed on the side of the head the earlier models didnt), and a commando outer primary. I cant see much else of it to ID it. looks like a dellorto carb.

and you are right, I do sort of recall the mercury model, but Ive never had one.

so its a rare collectable!
