What's the take on Helder ? I recall many of the f5knights last year saying he did better on a lesser team prior to the hrc team?

Is he just foxing of has he been having a tough tour so far?

The original route info. for todays SS3 has the Mot/quad course listed as 373 km distance.... the cars as 301 km.

On todays scoring POSIS matrix and map profile these distances are still listed.

The only possibility I can come up with is maybe they will cut the moto course where the "auto" split is OR take another route to the moto/quad marathon bivouac (which is separate from the main ASO HQ / Autos&Trucks tonight)... thus reducing the distance?

But as yet have no idea what/which of these it might be?

With that i beleive it is; "HogWild to the white coutesy f5one please..."?

Good post - so instead of 4.30 start its now 9.50 start ? That's a monster delay. Recognition of stage 2 problems ?

No... the first riders scheduled start from the Bivouac on DAY 3 is 04:30 am local ARG time. They have 292 km transport to the START of the SS3 (DSS)

The scheduled START of the SS3 is 09:50 local Argentine time...

capiché?

From what I understand 8.40 becomes 9.50

Edit : way too slow...

Ergo (from the matrix daryl posted)... the ASO have pushed bach the scheduled start time for SS3 by 1 hour and 10 minutes (from 08:40 to 09:50)... presumeably because of the shortened selective stage distance the the first rider should now (theoretically) arrive to tonights marathon bivouac at approximately the same time as originally planned?

Seems like a reasonable assumption. 100km in 70 minutes is 85kph / 53 mph average by my reckoning, which seems feasible if they're skipping part of the SS by road.

Are the knights predicting an alien 1-2?

Or still too early for them to declare their hand ?
(Even though its an incredible next 48 hours for the riders)

I've just discovered the "vessel" through which Brodo is continuing to guide his spiritual F5 brethren... Hallelluljah brother daryl!

Yesterday Jamie had a collision with a quad bike. He is battered, bruised and clearly gutted but is now out of hospital with no serious damage. I`m sure you will all agree this is bloody bad luck and takes nothing away from his amazing accomplishments so far. We are all thinking of you dude.

Collision with a quad. He's a bit battered apparently and went to hospital but is ok, and gutted of course.

Okay then, the first two day’s was kids stuff… let’s see how the old school crystal ball-fu is working today.
The first ten riders each separated by two minute start intervals… multiple off piste WP’s and navigation today… yesterday afternoon was a good warm up, but possibly the first “real” difficult nav to be done today?
Aliens Despres and Coma leave the DSS in pos 10 and 9 respectively.
Ahead of them they have three savvy/experienced Dakar navigation riders; Casteu (pos 7) Duclos & Faria (pos 5 &4) lesser navigation experts Gonk (pos 8) and Chaleco (pos 2)
Grabbo (in pos 6), BamBam (3) and Sundersam (1) are the questionmarks?
So… IF the stage becomes a waypoint hunt at some stage… I would expect (hey it’s voodoo… not a science) that Despres and Coma move forward… maybe Gonk savvy enough to coat tail them?
Casteu would likely catch Grabbo… they maybe even collected by the Aliens on the way through?
Faria and Duclos could well move to the front together with Barreda, Chaleco and sam… if they are at all hesitant compromised…
So… Coma/despres could well get back 6 to 8 minutes today on the leader total… the leaders go back 4 to 6 minutes…
Ummm… I predict an Alien in position 3 or 4 in the general classification by tonight.
Chaleco is my bet for the stage win.
