They did the same in 2013 with the sticker thing over the tyre and rims. I have to say though, after a long stage one had already departed and the other was in half. Not a very solid solution IMO and they did not check all the riders unless they did it at night.

Francisco 'Chaleco' Lopez must have had a problem on the first quarter of the special, because he trails the leader by 2’54', which is a significant amount in normal terms (almost 3 seconds per kilometre. What’s more, Ruben Faria (KTM) has just taken third place, 12 seconds ahead of the Chilean and just three seconds ahead of Alain Duclos (Sharco) who is in provisional fourth place.
