I think you can start up to 60 minutes late, but that's from memory.

Luis B. did not finish one year because he was 2 minutes past the cutoff to start the stage. They are quite serious about the limit.

The Michelin guys can be very hamfisted with installing tires, it's possible they broke the bead of the tire, leading to failure and the current situation.

A 908, even with a melted/ crap mousse, will still do OK at 110 kph indefinitely, DAMHIK. But if the bead were broken, all bets are off.

Only speculation!

Yes, with big zip ties the tyre will hold, albeit at a slow pace.
