Rob van Pelt, all of 20 yrs old now and running Malle Moto (when his did doesnt work on his bike) made it in,23rd. Impressive. Dont like his cocky attitude, but when can you expect when you're young

It was so important to have him there and have his skills. Racing would have been so much harder without my Dad, period. I could run things by him and likewise if he was unsure, he'd run them by me, nothing got left to chance. He did not interfere with Mousse changing, road book marking or my food / hydration regime and I did not interfere with bike fixing, servicing or preparation.

Working together on the World Rounds before the race set us up perfect for the Dakar. He knew how I liked the bike and it was always like new every morning when I threw a leg over it, an incredible feeling. I remember one day, he even replaced damaged stickers.

We are closer now than ever, thanks to the Dakar!
Awesome post... worth re-posting

Our Estonian guys are doing really good! I was a bit worried they lost some time between WP8 and ASS but so did many other riders.
Keep going Toomas and Mart!

Estonian guys seem to do okay - Toomas Triisa currently 30th on todays stage and Mart Meeru 39th. As predicted - the harder the better for Mart. Marathon should be his element.

#Dakar2014 en principio el portugués Ruben Faria está lúcido, con varios traumatismos. Se someterá a rayos y scanner para evaluar lesiones.

In principle Ruben Faria is lucid, with several injuries. He will undergo CT diagnosis to assess injuries.

Per a tweet:

Good news pour Ruben Faria! <> un trauma cranien et du rachis. il est conscient et passé un scanner de controle San Juan.

Google Translate of the last bit:

a cranial trauma and spine. he is conscious and had a scanner control San Juan.

Chaleco Lopez declared upon arrival to the goal that waste of time it was because the chain got out of the motorcycle. @radiomaray

#Radiomaray Chaleco López declaro a su llegada a la meta que perdida de tiempo fue por salida de la cadena de su motocicleta.

Lost his chain.
