The wish a speedy recovery to Reuben.
Until tomorrow."

So does Babelfish - however, there is conflicting information - did he or did he not get to the bivouac?!

From my understanding he means that he could not get to the bivouac because of the setbacks. But he is in. He faced difficulties and he could not get to the bivvy... oooooo.... it's too late here...

Not out of the race, just not in the bivouac...

However, since Helder is showing at 15th today (only 37 mins off the lead), it's safe to presume he made it to the bivvy, and is tucked up in his sleeping bag about now?

Do we know if the riders have access to fluids for their bikes?

Nothing I can find, a lot of riders still out there...

I see Malle Moto Hard-man #99 Paul Jay (GBR) has made it in, in pretty good time too - less than 10 minutes behind Sam Sunderland today (which is a good or bad thing, depending on who's perspective you look at it!)...

Thanks for the link! I had not caught this vid yet.

It just kills knowing how much work and prep goes into tackling Dakar. You see these guys taking it on the chin today, and it makes you sick to your stomach.

If my bike was sitting in the sand, burning, me watching, knowing I was not going to be able to continue, I would save the ADV sticker, let the F5ucker burn, and cry like a baby.

I imagine the ELF truck is there to distribute oil (and take away the old stuff)...

Interesting that this year, the ASS is directly at the marathon bivouac - therefore no chance for the service teams to tweak the bikes before the enter the bivouac like last year... However, I notice there is a short liaison tomorrow before the DSS...

I wonder if there will be eyes on the ground tomorrow to ensure noone get's new tyres (for example) after all?

Who is riding Paolo Libralesso's bike? Surely not another nicked bike eh? Maybe a withdrawal and somebody else riding the bike out for him? or maybe that is him, pre-Dakar? Curious minds...
