That's when they all teamed up and helped one anothers bikes down over the rocky steps.

So my question is: Why did the 25 other not try this?
I've been wondering the same thing. I would think the privateers would quicker to band together just to make the finish. The pros are, afterall, still racing each other and so might be stubborn about switching from race mode to finish mode.

13:40 - bike
009 - Casteu

David Casteu stopped for seven minutes on a dry riverbed at km 249, possibly after getting stuck in the mud. The rider from the French Riviera is now riding somewhat to the east of the course and losing precious minutes in the process...

------

Enough for me, I am late for work. Till later.

Casteau stopped at a river bed for 7 minutes and departed, now a bit to the East of the route.

This is before WP7, I believe. Casteu should drop accordingly.

It's possible they didn't realise she was there... (Camilia's pink quad is pretty conspicuous!)

And of course that would have been blatant sexism to pull both the girls out - and it's [cynically] possible that Camilia, as a multiple Dakar entrant, brings more cash and useful PR to the ASO machine?

Good call, maybe there's some kind of clash between KH7 and HRC? The whole Honda deal was announced very late IIRC. She was a longterm HRC/Montesa rider prior to her brief flirtation with GasGas (albeit in trials). I wouldn't be surprised if she's getting HRC support even now in a slightly more indirect way. Honda Argentina seem to be doing a great job so far anyway.
