Live off the BRP around Hillsville VA, mile marker 199. Speed limit dropped to 35 on a section where there is an interchange - US52 and BRP - and took most of us by surprise. Park police can be "difficult" even to locals. Most of the road I ride daily didn't have a speed limit change.
My advice is to pay attention and follow the posted limit on the BRP.
If you want some good roads with higher speed limits and fewer speed traps get off the BRP, the state roads around here are great.

It's not an internet rumor, it is a fact.
21 mph over any posted speed limit up to 60mph is reckless driving.
81 mph on ANY road is reckless driving (i.e., 81 in a 65 or a 70)
90 mph on any road in the Commonwealth is reckless and dangerous and will result in one night in jail for every mile over 90.
No, I'm not a VA Trooper. I have however had several of them as students and they all confirm.
