PE Seat needs a home

Hi Guys...

I'm into Honda CX500's - 82-83 Suzuki RM125 seats fit CX's with a bit of mod and I thought this PE seat would as well, but the pan is too flat, so it doesn't match the CX frame contour.

So, I have what appears to my PE-uneducated eye to be a pretty nice original PE seat, one that I can't use.

It looks like the part number is 40310-81065. I believe the guy I got it from on EBay said it was from a PE400 or PE250.

I thought I'd post it here before throwing it out on EBay....

Know anyone working on a restoration that could use it?

Thanks...

Victor

What are those rear shocks? I recently bought a '78 RM125 with a pair of shocks that look just like these. No resevoirs, but has air valves. I bought a '78 RM125 new, and the shocks on the one I got now are not the originals. I'm just curious to know if they are rebuildable aftermarket units.

PE 400 parts

I am in need of Ignition parts for PE400.

Any suggestions for OE or aftermarket suppliers?

I link to Powerdynamo ignition and looking into that now.

Any help is appreciated.

Nice front and rear guards for PE

Hi,

New to the forum. I've recently acquired a PE175T and am in the process of getting it going again. I really like the restoration of ThatVikingDude and am wondering what guards and plastics have been fitted. The rear guard doesn't seem to have the original droopy shape, nor does it have the flat section just behind the seat. The front guard seems to have a bit more shape to it too.

Any help is appreciated.

Alf

Good Resources for PE Rebuild

Check out this bloke's site. He has every manual on the PE you could want and more.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/pe175n/index_AU.html
Luke's PE.

Spokes are available from Ash's Spokes in Brisbane for about $4 each or $120 per wheel set.

Carby parts from Mikuni Oz (QLD) or Show and Go (SA).

Rad Hard Chroming in Brissy can redo your fork tubes for $320 a pair.

Pyramid Parts have steering head, wheel bearings and seals very cheap.

DEP make a nice muffler for $160.

Plenty of new engine parts, cables and sprockets, etc on eeebay.

Good luck!

Hi fellow PE inmates! I have a decent size collection of PEs. 1979 175, 1981 175, 1984 175(the 81 & 84 are almost mint). 2 1977 250s(in resto mode right now) and 2 1980 250s. I sold my 80 400(mistake). I have a Facebook page - Suzuki PE Motorcycles(what else?) if you're interested in joining. I rode my very complete and original 81 175x in the ISDT reunion ride this past year and won a Gold medal despite the fact I rode on the original tires. They looked great but were awful. Yeah I should have known better :( Now the 175x has Michelin M12s(much better). I have some parts to sell/trade and I'm looking for DG stuff for my 1979 which has the center stand option(check photos on the Facebook page). I'm also selling repo graphics. I have them available for all the X models now and should have them for the 1980 and 82 on models soon. $40. shipped in the USA.
BTW - bodywork available in the USA from DC plastics or Motoduro in the UK. Vintage Suzuki has limited PE stuff and Bikebandit sucks. They have about 5% of what you'll need.

1981 pe 400

G'day Guys,
just found this thread through a friend of mine.
I am currently restoring a 1981 PE 400 I bought for $150 late last year.
It was pretty well abused but I managed to get it running.
Have done a fair bit so far including fitting some later model RM125 forks & triples onto the original PE head stem....this also gives me the advantage of a front disk brake to compliment the 43mm dia forks.
Will post up pictures when I get some time but in the meantime here's what she looked like before starting the resto.

Here's a vid of her running after some carb cleaning
