Dave will be missed by all that knew him or had the pleasure to meet him. He was only here a short time but was part of the family that is in Christ. It is comforting to know that he is with our Lord and is rejoicing to be in His presence.

Dave, I will see you again when my time has come. PTL.
When in doubt, give it Gas!

Stories and favorite memories

Hi fellow inmates, ShooterDave's fiancee here. . . I am collecting favorite memories/stories of ShooterDave from his trip. I have created an e-mail account specifically for this:

I look forward to hearing from anyone who would like to share. Thank you for all your condolences. He touched a lot of lives and will be greatly missed.

Very shocked and saddened by this news. I had dinner with Dave in Albuquerque when he was in the early stages of his 48 state tour. Had a great time getting to know him and hearing the stories of his journey to that point. I followed his thread through the rest of the trip. Unbelievable...

So sad to here about Dave . Sorry for your loss . I'm glad he found love with you though . Hard to believe someone with such a love for life could die from something like this at such a young age .
He stayed at my place in Grass valley near the end of his trip . He was a very nice guy . My condolences to you his family and his friends .

Wow! This news makes me really sad. I was actually in the process of reading the report for a second time when I saw the bad news.

Prayers are with the family.

Yep, that's pretty much how he felt about his bike.

I only found this report a few weeks ago, and I read through it on my spare time at work. It truly was fantastic. I come to hear that Dave has passed, and it is rough. I feel like I got to know him after reading this. My condolences to those who are personally effected by this. I feel as if this ride report will live on to show the life and personality that Dave had. Does anyone know who he was planning to go RTW with? I think it would be amazing if there was a way to help fund his RTW trip in remembrance of Dave. RIP ShooterDave

From Dave's post trip write up, #1288

"Life is not a destination, but a journey. Everyone WILL die eventually. Its just a matter of how and when. What counts is what happens before that time, and how you live it. You only live once. Treat everyone as you would want to be treated and it will come back to you ten fold. Thank you for accompanying me along this journey, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. May your journey be as enjoyable.

Now go..... "

My towns 'Relay for Life' event is coming up in a few weeks. I'll be buying a luminary for Dave.

I wonder what the ridings like up there? Heavenly I'm guessing.

Oh what fun it is to ride!!!!

So sorry to hear about this. I never met Dave but I followed him on his great journey. He definitely inspired me to "get out there". Thank you for that Dave. Rest in peace brother. I will take a ride on my XRL soon and dedicate it to him.
