Rear wheel needed for DRZ400S

Hi

I'm in Auckland and I need to get a new rear wheel for my DRZ. My hub is worn and has too much play. What is worse my WOF has expired. To pass last time, we pulled the bearings out and lined them with metal strips, but obviously this is not a permanent solution.

I've looked at the set of wheels on Torpedo 7, they come un-tuned, I know nothing about tuning up spokes correctly so would have to hand the wheel over to someone that did.. And the other bummer is I only want one wheel not two!

Nothing on trademe, been looking for ages.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Fern

I will see if I can get the hub turned out and bigger bearings put in first

Hi Fern, Phil here. We met you at Kingston. I had a look at the Torpedo 7 website. Looks like they come assembled and ready to go. I may be interested in the front wheel if you go down that road.

If you go down the machining route you may be able to get some steel or stainless steel sleeves made and fitted into the hub so you can use standard bearings.
Do you know an engineer. If not try Tjebbe Bruin at Bruin Engineering. 094809408.
Tjebbe is an engineering Guru and if he can't fix it or doesn't want to he may know who will.
Cheers Phil

ooh yess Hi Phil, was great to meet you all... I was a bit washed out when you met me and the trip only got better!

Thats good to know you are interested in the front, as I think i'm going to bite the bullet and buy the wheels on Wednesday, but didn't want/need the front and they are in the sale again..I was going to get the black on black ones, but really for practicality, I will ask if they do a silver/silver combo...

i'll pm you if I do. Thanks for the other chaps details, might give him a bell in the morning..
