Let's bring it home...

Looking down at the earth passing by...

...ride plans are made for an unknown land.

Eventually, we land at our stopover...Miami, maybe? Dave blows right by the chair they have waiting for him in the gangway...

I was secretly hoping to push his ass all over the airport.

Instead, he opts for the less conspicuous airport walker...

Definitely back in the US...

After our quick layover we're back on board enjoying the benefits of booking at the last minute...

We're so far back the flight attendant's jump seats are in front of us. We're sitting in the addition they had built just to get us back early.

After an uneventful flight we land in Boston, collect our pile of shite for the last time and make our way to the curb...

...where like a meticulously orchestrated hostage rescue, SCS swoops in and collects us for our final leg of our journey...

Back where we began, we have some ice cream...

...and pie while reviewing the events of the last several days with our wives...

The trip is over. We say our goodbyes and head home.

It's been another awesome ride.

Mike's got this thing pretty close to being wrapped up... but I think it's worth re-capping the highlights of the most recent cash flow report of the trip.

It was kind of a... don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, sort of a report...

Allright...so maybe there was some Baileys in there too....

Beat you to it!

That was the most expensive coffee on earth!

In retrospect, we could have stayed another week for what that coffee cost us.

If I still had every dollar I spent on motorbikes I would be a richer man but a poorer person.

Well, did you have any warning in advance as to what they were going to charge you for the coffee?

Full disclosure...there was a touch of Bailey's in there - for medicinal reasons, of course. Dave was in enough pain for both of us so I felt obligated to join him. Not to mention, it was thought we'd board the plane and actually take off and grab some much needed sleep.

But still, $24.01?!?!

Thanks for coming along, Merlin!

Oh, in case anybody wondered....

Here's what I ended up with:

Put a serious damper on my summer riding....

There was probably a group buy on 12 titanium plates and pan head screws.

Ouch! It looks like they nid a nice job with the surgery at least.

Will the hardware remain in place, or do you plan to have it removed. I have had similar plates in my wrist for eight years, and the only time it bothered me at all was when a screw backed out and popped through my skin . I unscrewed it and closed the wound with crazy glue.

Cheers,

.

That's awesome poolman...badass.

I'm not sure what to do with it, so unless it bothers me I guess I'll just leave it. My only real concern is, if I do something similiarly stupid again, what will be the result...Something about that left leg is, it keeps getting pinned under the bike. Maybe I should learn to ride better...

They wanted to be sure to put the plate and screws in the right side, no I mean the left side, no I mean the correct side...

The doc was so proud of his work, he signed it.

And gave me this thing, sporting the KTM colors.

Fortunately, before it broke down...I switched it over to Yamaha colors...

Met whizzerwheel for lunch today. Presented him with a little memento of our journey...

Yep. That's the end of his control lever that snapped off in the crash.

Just in case he needs a reminder.

EVilClown and wizzerwheel,

Your ride reports are the best

You two seem to have a knack of smoothing the troubled waters as I follow in your wake

EC - While any rider would certainly appreciate the sentimental and heartfelt gift you bestowed upon WW, it does look a bit like a miniature "truck nut" missing its partner in crime

I'm sure your intentions were noble...

Cheers,

.
