Wow, Time to re-think my bike situation... (maybe I can sell my Dual sport and come up with some extra $ to get one quick...)

A good friend will take you trail riding, an ADV friend will double back and say, "how did you get down there?"

Most of the changes in the 2014 4RT is in the engine. They created a change that alters the way the braking affect of the engine is much more like a 2 stroke. They also updated the brakes, fuel mapping, CC's are 260 over the old 250, and updated clutch (There is a few more things). On the Repsol version (indicated here) they have wider pegs, better suspension, diffrent graphics, and a few more little things. That should be a good starting list.

Liking it a lot...

Those are the changes since the 2013 model. There's been a lot more changes in the past six years since they were imported into the USA.

Agreed, I it is just a starting list... was attempting to at least put up some of the big change items I new about. Anyone knowing the rest of the items is welcome to add to the list...

Mines an '07

Compression release means I can push it through with my hand
Repackable exhaust (I have the '09+ cover over an '07 muffler)
Other than that it seems identical to dads '05.

If they bring the 2014s over I wonder what it would do to the current 5k price tag on the used market? It stands to reason that our showa suspension is still better that that of a new red bike. Right?

First thing to remember they are only bringing over the race replica version, unless I missed something.

Next we have Showa and I would say better in build quality but the trick is that modern trials suspension has evolved in how the suspension is set up sense the 07 so the suspension on the standard might (and I do mean might) be the same or better performance wise.

To bad I don't have an opportunity to ride all 3 for a comparison... But hay I can't complain much they are brining them here so that's a plus in my book.

And there cheaper than in the UK too. It remains to be seen who will buy one though, as most trials riders are a bit shy when it comes to spending money on a new bike, let alone the most expensive one. I can vouch, they are bloody good bikes and the 2014 is another step better.

availability

Talked to my dealer (western hills Honda in Cincinnati) he said Honda is making a shift to the "super dealerships" like Harley has done. Your chances of getting one through one of the older smaller dealers are slim.

(On an unrelated note: best place to get a full set of linkage&swingarm bearings?)

Heard a few people indicate that after market sets are much lower quality than OEM with tolerance issues at times... Might be worth going OEM from a parts dealer.

I have not used these guys, but the (non Montesa) dealer I do use says they are the best (US) source for everything Montesa.
