I've turned the bead of a tire to goo before on a quad in a race. it took exactly 2 miles of being flat.

ride saturday

Lets all put some air in the tires (or not) and go riding. Some of us are meeting at Mcdonalds in Crystal Springs 10:00 Sat morn. A mix of gravel and pavement. Should be fun, come on down and ride with us.

Man I wish I could make it. I don't think riding with pneumonia is a good idea though.

Went and got a sticker for the 500X and a guy there was looking it over like crazy then spotted the 500 on the rear and asked why I didn't get something bigger. Then he kept looking it over and said its a cool bike. At what point did a 500cc bike really become that small.

Just passed 2 squids on a red sport bike on Old Fannin and neither had a helmet on, much less any safety gear. Guess it's the warm weather.

All the loose gravel in the construction areas make it bad enough. Who needs helmets, gloves, boots, jackets, brake pads that aren't bare metal, air in tires, lights that work, and so on...

I guess nobody told them that helmets were mandatory.

Some people just like to live outside of conventional wisdom... you know, gotta do their own thing. Like put air in tires and replace brake pads that are grinding into the rotor... :-)

Who's the brake pad comment directed towards? Did I miss something?

Edit: Just saw a pic of Knightwork tinkering on something. Must be him.

At breakfast Saturday, we observed a KLR with zero meat on the rear pads... owner said he doesnt need brakes and uses gears to slow down... thats how he rolls...

Oh, was it Thunderhart or OkeyDokey? As soon as I get over this pneumonia and bronchitis I'm gonna start coming to breakfast again. Well, when I don't have Saturday shoots anyway.

Anti,

Were you in Jackson today?

I passed a black S10 on 25 this morning. He was headed north between Dogwood and 471.
