Thanks for the offer.

I managed to find some off roadinf north of ft pierce while looking for a camp site

I found a place near the old Dixie highway train tracks

I'm in corral springs due to my mistake navigating and rain. So ended up back tracking from ft Lauderdale! Blast

I looked at my maps later and saw this as sign to skip the everglades Nat park

I'll just head west on the 75 and into golden gate
Shark park does not look that great so I'll skip the tamiami trail

I saw two large gators while exploring the cape Canaveral Nat Mon so I'm good
Plus the mosquito are going to be bad, and I'm day 11 of 53ish so I'd like to spend more time in dry weather and not in the swamp. Just not my thing.

Besides its going to rain again so I'll just push west on the slab

Dual sport North of Ft Pierce

I'd be interested in hearing more about what you found in the Ft Pierce vicinity.I'm not in Ft. Pierce at the moment but have property near St. Lucie Airport which is just on the north side of town.

Indian county?

Hard packed sandy roads. There are some sandy spots at four ways. I droped my mc for the first time not paying attention. Good way to learn when no damage is down
The sandy Dirt roads are really hard. They do not give much at all.

Lots of nice homes and farms canals separate property

Lots of suburbs near old Dixie highway

Mosquitoes were not terrible. Easy to kill

Hope this helps

If I stuck to back roads as best I could, and did most of my riding early in the morning, would that be good enough for most of flatistan? I want to visit the Key's, but am not keen on seeing any big city's, unless it can't be avoided.
You could catch Hwy 98 in LA (lower Alabama) just west of Florida and ride the coast all the way to Tampa. No big cities between the two. Meander down to the keys, head up the east coast on Hwy 1 and then possibly Hwy 90 back West. Lots of forests, farms and rivers inland, which is never too far. Either bike would be fine. If true winter is gone this time of year is perfect riding. Cool mornings and warmer afternoons mostly. Summer can start around March if we're lucky/unlucky.
Good luck!

The fee is a little steep, but the ride is much more enjoyable than most HD products...

I have it on good authority that BMW Jax will soon be offering for rent 12RT's, 12GS's, & K16's.

Let the fun begin.

Hi everybody!

I am wondering, are there any primitive campsites to the north of Canaveral right on the ocean coast? Me and my friend are going on a coast to coast journey, so I want first night to be right on the Atlantic coast, so nobody can accuse us later that it wasn't real coast to coast trip. :)

Something like this:

November thru April, Cape Canaveral National Seashore.

Better make reservations if you can, this is the only place I saw that allows camping right on the beach.

It says the sites are 1/4 mile from the parking area.

Yes, they don't allow camping there in summer because of sea turtles nesting season, and we are going in August... :(
May be there is something at least remotely similar?..

This place has nice facilities. We stayed there for a couple of nights. You can't camp on the beach, but you can hear it from your tent. Camping in August in FL is not the brightest idea.

You can ride your bike down Daytona Beach, get some pics in front of the Ocean. Stay in a motel and turn on the AC.

Or whip out your tent, set it up next to the bike. Snap some pics and put it away!
