Shipping Auckland to Chile end of March 2014 – Info needed + maybe sharing container!

Hey guys!

We are planning to ship our 2 motorcycles from Auckland/New Zealand to Valparaiso/Chile or Santiago de Chile at the end of March 2014.

If someone has experience with sea or air freight we would be more than happy to get information about shipping companies, prices, the time it takes to ship the bikes and so on!

If we decide to ship the bikes by sea we might as well be interested in sharing a container if someone is interested!

We are looking forward to hear from you!

Cheers from New Zealand
Bea & Helle

Hi Bea and Helle

4 years ago I air freighted my bike to Santiago chile using Jenners in Auckland. The cost was about $2150.00 NZ.
I did not crate the bike up as you either pay on volume or weight. Which ever is greatest. in photos you will see that i just cut a pallet down to the size that I wanted.

It cost me more to sea freight it back to NZ once we were done.

The bike flew over the day before us. When we arrived at the airport we just walked around the airport until we found the cargo building. After that it was do the paper work and ride away.

All the best BEN

I asked Rosco about transport to Chlie next year as we are thinking of a quick South American adventure... He answered that he only transports bikes for his tours.

Cheers
Clint

Hey guys!
Thanks to all of you for your advice.
We´ve contacted Jenners and have a quote already.
And we also spoke to the Germans running the Villa Kunterbunt in Valparaiso.
We are still waiting for some more quotes and then we´ll see what we´ll do.

@Clint:
If you need the quotes and contact details from the freight forwarders for your upcoming trip, then please let us know and we´ll send you all our information.
