I think I've found a couple places on the map. We'll see how deep the snow is soon.

Heads up people.
Our chance to represent our passion. We lost a great riding area in our back yard recently. Let's get this back and not let this loss gain momentum. Even if you do not ride there, we need your help. It's a bid of a long read below, but please show up wear some moto jerseys.

Ned's words below are better than mine.

Hi Everyone-
Hope you've been enjoying the warm weather and gotten out for a spin.

We've gotten an update from the USFS and CSU that they are going to release a scoping letter for comment, and the comment period starts next Tuesday with a meeting. Here's the email:

"We have set an Public Open House date of Tuesday, February 25, 5:30-7:30 pm in the Pikes Peak Room at the Colorado Springs Utilities' Leon Young Service Center, 1521 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs 80903.

At this Open House we will continue the discussion on proposed actions in the Bear Creek watershed. It will also serve as an opportunity to provide comments on the revised proposed action and existing alternatives.

A scoping letter will be sent the week of February 17th with details of the Proposed Action and Alternatives. When this scoping letter is sent it will begin a formal 30 day comment period."

Of course, we haven't actually seen the scoping letter, even though it's the 20th... but if you are able to come to the meeting on Tuesday night, please do, and wear a jersey or other Moto-related gear.

If you cannot, we will send an update with the outcome of the scoping letter and recommended comments whenever we actually have the thing.

Broadly speaking, the alternatives look really good for us- although there is a slight loss of total mileage, we would maintain motorized access from our traditional trailhead and get some new trail as well- a great outcome given the alternatives.

Thanks!
Ned

Wednesday night regulars:
I'm out for tomorrow night. Doing a sales presentation in south Denver at 6:30pm. Wish me luck.

Wednesday night irregulars:
This would be a good time to go, I won't be there.

I hate going to these. My partner, the salesman, seems to do better when I'm not there because I end up explaining too much - removing the smoke and mirrors. Prospective clients get a false sense of empowerment from understanding the process, while not understanding how to make the process work. But there will probably be some questions that I'll need to be there to answer. I promise to keep my answers brief.
