This will be my first Adventure Rider Rally. I'm super excited!

Can anyone suggest a packing list for a camper?

Hi all ! Well , my 1st time camping ( in 100 years ) was at Polar Bear . But , I did learn that a good sleeping pad is very important . I used a small 1 man tent , a bad sleeping pad ( since replaced ) and a cheap sleeping bag . Other than that a change of at least underwear and socks and all should be good . If you are doing the reverse rally I am looking for some company to fumble through it all .

Going thru the bike and I've got some bad bearings and a developing oil leak... I may be out if I can't get through the bike maintenance in time.

Arrived Cedar Key. Camp is open at Angler's RV. about 1 miles past Dollar General on the right. $10/night/bike for us. If you arrive after office closes come on in and all the way to the back. go half way around the circle and look for a lane to the right. I'm in orange tent. Pavillion, power, water. Bring food, beer.

Hundreds of bike-week bikes in Cedar Key today. all day-trippers.

We are riding Friday REVERSE and will leave our equip set up here. Square up with me and I settle with the park on Sunday morning. Not doing the Sunday ride. Heading instead to Daytona for photo week.

Avail by call or text. 570-401-4843

Roll Chart event

Sorry, but there will be no GPS files until after this event.

This is intended to be a roll chart event, meaning the challenge is to be able to follow the route via roll chart. The "game" is to follow the route correctly in the time available each day. The routes are long and it will be difficult to complete the entire route on time if you spend too much time trying to figure out your way. The objective is to complete as much of the route as you can and collect as many points as you can along the way. The points collections serve 2 purposes. One, is we can verify how much of the route one was able to complete via the pictures. The other is the awards will be based on the number of points one can collect over the weekend. (theoretically, if someone had the GPS files, one could by pass most of the route and just head straight to the points) This would present an unfair advantage to anyone using a gps to follow the route.

That said a GPS is still going to be very helpful in that you can confirm the directions of the street and trails by monitoring your gps.

AND, the reason the GPS files will not exist until after the event is no one has them yet. We did start will a Basecamp GPS route to make the initial route sheet. However since that time the routes have been changed over a dozen times. Too much pavement here, not enough challenge there. "Just found a cool road yesterday". This happened about every other day for the last 4 weeks. The updates were only done to the spreadsheets used to print out the roll chart. So basically even I will be getting lost with no gps tracks as many of the changes have been done after I pre-road some sections. I also recommended some of those changes. Even those changes went like, "Hey we need to get rid of that section". I would then get word that we have a new route through that area, but I do not know what it is.

Regarding the Reverse Rally, since we will have tracks of the Sunday route at the end of Friday, I ask that all of the reverse riders not give that route file to any of the folks that will be riding that route on Sunday. We want everyone to suffe...I mean experience the adventure that the Reverse Rally folks got to experience on Friday

PS, where does everyone want to eat on Thursday Night?

I guess it never occurred to me to just skip to the next photo tag.
You'd miss all the good riding if you did that!
Without the tag location on the GPS file you still had to follow the roll
chart to know what you were looking for and where.
At least we did!!!!

As far as dinner Thursday night, we'll be at the Gulfside and really don't care where we eat.
Pick a spot and let us know where you'll be and when.

Wicked 3:00 update from anglers rv

LB was just here. He is camped a few miles north. on Thursday at 9 AM he will lead whoever is here on local roads for a fun day. 9:00 AM Gail's Cafe, Old Town, FL. Loose and Kurtz are in for that.

Answer to text question from Bruce: At Angler's RV: no reservations required. $10/night. Equipment can be left here. I am going to the office in a few minutes to work out that we don't pay for Friday night with just equip sitting here. Have fire pit, some wood, pavillion, 3 tables, wifi. showers are nice. community room with TV.

Who is bringing roll charts? Will there be a Friday leader(s)?

Cliff and I have cooking setup for Thursday eve if you want. Cheap works for me. Beer and vino ain't cheap here. $ General is on the right before camp on Rt 24. They have cold beer and wine cheaqper than in cedar key.

Friday night we got room at MICROTEL INN & SUITES BY WYNDHAM PALM COAST. (386) 445-9150 $119 for two beds. We have 3 in the room so far. bring bags and crash. If you can't sleep bring more beer/.
