taste of Dakar

Who is coming to my part of the world for the Taste of Dakar event that Alt Rider is Putting on. I have nothing to do with Altrider but Have lived and rode every type of motorcycle imagineable in Pahrump for the last 54 Years. We have some outstanding riding without BlM Nazis and you will be able to ride almost all types of terrain. No mud, this is the desert. My part of the world seems to being discovered by adventure bikes as it well should. Southern Nevada, Death Valley, Dumont Dunes all have every kind of terrain and experiance level availible. 70 degrees in Janurary is not bad either. If you cant make it for this you do owe it to yourself to explore the area.
I live here and am paying the 250.00 just because I want to see the reactions of the folks discovering the area, making new friends and nights around campfires is pretty good also.
Hope to see you here.

Hey I know Pahrump. There is a road race track there I have run several times. Sounds like a great time! Checking my schedule now to reserve a spot the the "Old and Slow" group.

camping

Headquarters is the winery RV park. Mostly gravel for campspots, Nice stage area, grass, grapevines, trees. Looks like we are having lunch at the Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings. One of the older bars in Nevada. I have driven all the routes there at one time or another. Good Newsis that they offer any type of riding condition you want, from easy to what the hell am I doing here. Should be fun:)

How is everyone feeling about the weather? The Friday session looks like it will be a wet one for sure.

Weather

Weather will definitely be an issue. We have varied enough terrain that there will be routes that can be ridden. Some of the tracks through the clay will be impassible. Stuff is so slick you can not stand up in when wet. Sandy soil and gravel will be just fine. There will be washouts and water crossings. Very glad I bought some waterproof boots at chapparell last week.
Will be an adventure.

Will work on the photos. But thanks all for a really excellent weekend.

It had everything: Rain, sun, mud, rocks, sand, slab, big bikes, little bikes, jerks, heroes, beer and fire.

This weekend was an adventure for sure.

Hey you didn't have everything. where's the DUST.

Just met some riders returning from the event, said it was pretty sloppy on the lack beds.

Look forward to pics.
