LARR Version 2014

Next Up: the 2014 LARR.

2nd weekend in September. (Sept 12-14).

Vinita, Oklahoma. (Look carefully at Post 2 for a link to the google map.)

Questions? PM me, Nata Harli, or Throttlemeister.

Before this forum existed, advriders not in the USA or Europe had a forum called Outer Darkness.

When this forum was young, Nata Harli rode home from Panama. Barb and I rode south from Texas. We were all going to meet up halfway but we missed. We promised to meet up for a beer. Next think everyone who mattered said they were thirsty. So we met in Colorado.

Then in Colorado again.

Then in Minnesota.

Then in New Mexico.

Then twice in Wisconsin.

And now in Oklahoma.

I'll come back and edit this post irregularly.

Who: North America Based Latin America Riders
What: Rallye to tell lies, drink too much, and generally feel normal for a few days.
Where: TBD. Word is that it'll be in Oklahoma or Mexico.
When: TBD. Late Summer until mid-Fall.
Why: Because we love disaster

Nata Harli, Throttlemeister, and any other FF's that have an opinion-

There is also a nice little resort close by at Lake Hudson Inn(could only find a crappy facebook link) just down the road with a few rooms and a place where brunch should be taken at least one morning. But there is plenty of camping space and bonfire room and good deck space and hot tub at the cabin site. I'll work on a little motorbike course on site through the woods.

Post up some more details later but it's pretty much like years before just show up and have fun

Rally site within a hundred yards or here closer to the water.

that makes it Sept 12-14 +/- a few days if you want to come early or stay late. For Vince and any other FFs that should be flying in, I'm sure I can pick up whoever at any of the somewhat nearby airports TUL, XNA, or OKC are possible with a little notice

if in Oklahoma, I might be able to fly in for a weekend. Sadly, I'm chained to the Bay Area (and China) most of the time.

Are you volunteering to uncoordinated this disaster? I'd do Copper Canyon. When?

I would be happy to uncoordinate for a CC meet if I had some idea/faith of my availability, but nada right now. That's my excuse, anyway.
October is usually great weather for a CC adventure.

CC can be a three day wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am affair, or easily extended to several weeks long. All riders smile in CC.

I keep forgetting that you haven't yet been to a LARR disaster. Uncoordinating is remarkably easy. You just have to pick a spot and then keep a half-assed list of who might come. Once we're there, we're on our own except for at night when we steal each others' beer. Your other job might be to hold somebody's beer while they do something epic or amazing.

A nice site in Oklahoma in early September is ready especially if it allows some old and new friends to all meet up

There's a decent campground with a touch of off road riding available at Grand Lake.
The campground owner is pretty cool, assuming he's still kicking.
The town is very friendly to weird out of town riders and off roaders.
Early Sep would probably still be blazing hot. Later would be much better.

You are an old rockcrawler if I remember right Are you thinking of Disney and Tijuana Oklahoma. Earlier September so we can have some good time cooling off in the lakes and rivers

I've got a spot on Grand River near Strang that we could all base out of that should work well enough.

We will need a beer holder (human type) if there is fire dancing this year.
