Stock pipes on a 2011 Street glide, Stock radio and 40 watt speakers. Hook up the IPOD to the AUx port, set the volume and ride.

Put me in the camp using Shure noise isolating ear buds. Been using them for 8 years now. First were the E110 then SE210 and now SE425.

I got tired of the earbud wires catching on everything. So the last time I was in the Verizon store I bought the rechargeable Motorola Buds Bluetooth Headset. I have all my music in my phone, plus I can talk through it and listen to GPS directions. The buds are attached to a "collar" that goes around your neck and has controls on each side for volume/answer/hang-up. I have been using them for about 3 months and love them. One charge will last about 6-7 hours & they re-charge via USB which I have on the bike w/adapter to my Battery Tender harness.

$70 :

you guys just be careful with the sound on the freeway thing - always protect your ears. If you're ears are EVER ringing, you've just sustained irreversible damage.
I know enough guys with tinnitus that have to wear ear plugs all the time, for the rest of their lives to try to spread the word about protection.... of course, most of them are drummers... so....

Ditto

The earbuds double as earplugs & I keep the volume down as low as possible and still hear the music. Riding without earplugs makes my tinnitus way worse, even for a short run.

Like anything, you get used to it. I have to focus on it to notice it.
