Vstrom rally

Anybody else headed up to Carolina for the Vstrom gathering in May? My buddy and I are going, thought it might be cool to meet up with some local guys while up there.

Thanks for posting. I was not aware of this. May is very busy month. Do you have a link? What dates.

You dont quit riding when you get old, you get old when you quit riding.
I don't always ride street bikes, but when I do I prefer VStroms

Here's the link. May 15-18. We are staying at the Ironhorse. Possibly room for a third person, but might have to sleep on the floor. I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of tent camping space available as well. We will be leaving on Thursday the 15th and riding back Sunday.

I've stayed at Iron Horse several times.
VERY nice motorcycle resort in the center of the best the Smokeys have to offer for bike riders.

Camped and stayed once in the bunkhouse.

Other riders were snoring and had flatulance galore going on that night.
I may have participated also.......

If the only thing I do is fart on that trip I'll be happy. I'm hoping I don't shit myself on the Tail of the Dragon. I'll be the slow guy on the KLR trying not to get run over.

I would think a KLR would do real good on the Dragon. Way better than a Cruiser.

Fall 2011 was the last time I was on 129.
Killboy took this one:

KLR's are a lotta fun on the Dragon--the thing is, ya don't need big HP to have a blast on the Dragon, yer speeds are pretty low since the curves are so tight. You can really have a blast running 40MPH thru those twisties...of course, you'd still be speeding since the speed limit is 30, but the point is, you can ride that stretch of road slowly and still be entertained.

And there's a KLR rally going on that same weekend in Tellico Plains TN (Tour de Tellico), so you'll likely see a whole buncha KLRistas at Deal's Gap. Wish I could make it up there that weekend, but I'll hafta wait 'til the second week of June to get my "twisty fix"...y'all have a good time and ride safe!

Yeah, I will probly roll up to the rally. I live just north of St. Augustine so if anybody is coming from this area, and wants a riding partner on the way up, let me know. 2002 DL 1000
