John,
Sounds like you are doing better, good to hear.

What route were you planning from Texas to AZ?
In early May I will be heading from Big Bend to San Diego.
Santiago

We took 277 west from Carrizo Springs to Del Rio and then 90 to Van Horn. Good road, little traffic. Re-visited the museum of Judge Roy Bean at Langtry. Then slab highways to home. John

Nice windmill

you captured there, John.

That Judge Roy Bean Museum might be something to take a look at on an adventure out West of the Pecos.

Last Update

In my Ride Report, I mentioned that I had purchased inner tubes at the dealership in Buckeye, Arizona. It turned out that the rear tube was the wrong size which led to a blowout after only eight miles of freeway riding in rush hour traffic.
.
After recovering from Bronchial Pneumonia, I took the blown tube to the dealership in Buckeye. I sat down with the General Manager and explained that his Parts Person had sold me the tube with the caveat - "It's not the exact tube called for, but it will get you home."
.
I explained that I appreciated the Parts Person trying his best to satisfy a customer. But it is imperative that his efforts to satisfy - not lead to a disaster.
.
The Manager thanked me for the information. He indicated that a "safety Talk" would take place.
.
I take partial blame. I trusted - but did not verify! I will certainly double check purchases in the future.
.
A new tube is on order from the Dealership. They are providing the tube at their expense. Because I live about 80 miles away, they will U.P.S. it to me. I am totally satisfied.
.
I'm looking forward to my next bike ride as I am boring holes in the sky with the Gyroplane. Life is good. John

Here is our hero and his mighty TW:

Calimusjohn dropped by for an afternoon of stories and entertaining BS about life and riding. Great guy. He is young at heart. Always an inspiration to an older guy like me to see someone 75 years young getting out and exploring the world.

We both agreed that time flies and you guys better get out there NOW and ride the world.

Someday really is now. Don’t put it off. Get out there.

Kindest regards,
John Downs

John has led a lot of folks down the paths. Fortunately, most are not lined with thorns. John Too

That was a great RR. Sorry that the ending wasn't very good but sounds like you are back to normal now.

Hi Jim. I am doing a lot of local riding in Arizona at present. In July I hope to join a group of TW200 riders in Elk City, Idaho. That might generate a written line or two. John
