What were you using to take those photos Dave? Something expensive I bet, beautiful pictures!

Very cool Dave

I have made a couple of trips to this area on my bike and STILL cant get enough of the picture. I even brought my laptop to another part of the house to show my wife your report.

Thanks for a great escape with your RR. I really enjoyed the photos!

Fantastic pictures!

A stunning part of the country as long as it doesn't get too hot.

I am using a Panasonic Lumix TZ5 ($242 on Amazon) http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-...8261165&sr=8-1

I love this camera. I shoot almost all photos with the "Intelligent Auto" mode and a color setting of "vibrant".

Technically perfect photos they are not, but for documenting a motorcycle trip, without carrying a ton of equipment, you can't beat it.

BTW, My theory is Futura owners are typically more adventurous to begin with because choosing to buy a rare bike from fly-by-night dealers of a small Italian brand requires a bold adventurous personality(Reckless Risk Takers). I guess it's no wonder so many of us end up taking them off the tarmac.

As an update to this RR, I plan to keep my Futura mostly on the smooth roads now that I have the KTM for the rough stuff.
...that is the Moki Dugway. Short bit of road, but climbs/descends rapidly. It's all good

On the strength of your posting these ride pics, I replaced my little Canon elph with the Panasonic. No regrets

AzIrish out

Great ride report, you will have some of the members that think they need to spend $25,000 on a bike and $2000 on expensive gear to do a ride like this, thanks

Great RR, Dave!

Do I have you confused with somebody else, though? I thought you also had a KTM 990 Adventure... thought you had put monster gas tanks on it too.

You're not mistaken, Rob. This report was from 2008, before I got the KTM.

Thanks for the new comments, guys.
