A little trip around Bariloche to see where the rich people from Buenos Aires come to vacation.

Coffee break.

Ash from 2011 volcanic eruption which was 2 meters thick. Still having effects on the area to this day.

Last boarder crossing.

Volcano Osorno.

Thanks. Headed to the airport at Osorno then on to Santiago and finally back to the US. Should land in Atlanta tomorrow a.m. and Milw. sometime in the p.m. Will be great to get back to the US and back to a language that I can read and speak. Probably the only hang-up with my travels.

My goal to discover and explore Patagonia has come and gone . What started as an adventure remains an adventure from beginning to end if I can call it an end. What have been the highlights? From what is said that God writes in Scripture and in Creation I can assure you that He did a great job in South America with the Creation bit . Beautiful landscapes every place we went. So uncluttered and majestic. With about 2700 miles of the country seen from south to north there was a variety. Glaciers, mountains, lakes, volcanoes, waterfalls, valleys, open plains and open water. Wild horses and guanacos, cows, sheep and pigs, condors, rabbits, foxes and an occasional skunk. The people, the cowboys and ranchers, cooks and cleaners. A friendly people with big smiles and very helpful. If only they could speak English....
You won't find wash clothes in your hotel rooms. Don't think they have been invented down there yet. Many things are 30 to 40 years behind the US in terms of what we are use to. For instance, the owner of a gas station pumps your gas while there are a line of cars sometimes 10 or 20 cars deep waiting in line to get gas. There is no rush or sense of urgency for anything. A meal can take 2.5 hours to be served and I don't recall ever seeing such runny scrambled eggs in my life . It was a great trip taken with 3 super guys Fred, Martin & Warren and I can't say enough about the service and accommodations that Eric had provided and set up with Ride Adventures and the great job that Thomas our support truck driver and BMW mechanic/instructor had done to make the trip so enjoyable. They were outstanding and knowledgeable.

Funny too how the only beer they had in a few places was Miller...

Leaving Osorno

Volcano Osorno

Landing in Milwaukee. Most of Lake Michigan is open water now but when I left on March 5th it was 95% frozen over.

One of the things that I missed the most.

Thanks for following along. It's been a real slice of heaven to have been able to experience it.

Yours truly,

Mike on a bike.

I talked with Ann Marie yesterday. Way to go...... takes off on a plane the day before you arrive!!! Ahhhhhh, the love!!

Isn't it surreal/odd being back in the U.S.?
It really hit James and I big time........
After all of those days of travels with roads and conditions not as we are used to, it really hit us as to what an easy life we have.

So thrilled that you took the initiative/plunge and signed up for the adventure.

We haven't decided as to whether we will attend the BMW rally in Minnesota in July as of yet.

We'd love to see you in Pewaukee and make the trip up to the rally with you and Ann.

Congratualtions on a job well done!!! We know exactly how hard it is to keep the posting going after having been out on the motorcycle all day!!!

'Ya done good!!!

xox
