i have ridden fast in hard rain lots of times, bikes tires are good at not hydroplaning in standing water. When all the cars pull over because they can't see, you can go as fast as you want to go more or less safely..

THIS is why you should use sandpaper/rubbing alcohol/paint stripper/burnouts/light artillery fire on new tires. That's clearly the only reason he's alive.

Cars cannot see a thing, but you can go as fast as you like. Proper Superman here...

The 'when in doubt do nothing' rule did well for him.

The other lesson for us is the cars dramatically slowing in the right lane was a signal something was up...

gurgle-gurgle

I think he's a lucky duck for sure.

How the hell did he NOT SEE that coming? All the other cars were braking and veering right .......... you can easily see their lights. I was really surprised that he went barreling into all that standing water without intentionally checking his speed! Maybe he had on fogged up glasses under that visor too? Flying blind .................. without a snorkle.

I got a friend that sorta' did the same thing on a Concours ....... except he was coming into Palm Springs, in the DARK, and it was SAND! He was riding freeway speeds and next thing you know, he's in dunes and drifts! Never went down either. Although he did ride like a granny for the next week!

Again, one lucky duck. Quack!
