Russ & the MZ of which we speak.

Now that the VJMC Rally is done & dusted, I'm looking forward to this!!

I re-assembled my 350LC a couple of weeks ago but, didn't add any water to it. I didn't plan to start it until after I came back from SA. Come last saturday I trundled into the garage & pored my distilled water into the radiator. Whilst it was filling I felt something cold on my feet - I was wearing my best Japanese Safety Boots at the time.
Water was running out the exhaust!!!

Quickly drained what I'd added, then pulled the head off. It's a two stroke, it took about 5 minutes. Both of my new pistons and freshly bored barrels were tpped off with cool, clear water!

I took the barrels, the head I was using and a spare head down to the machinists' this morning. I expect I'll get it back together by the end of the week. No leaks this time, maybe.

I must've killed a Chinaman, or maybe it was this bike's previous owner?

And Trokel has been spending (not very much) money on a bike that may be right for the dirt track too. Bastard! Turned up at my place yesterday arvo. Gloating!!!

Bump.

How's your prep going?

I've got the engine re-assembled in the 350. And the water didn't pour out this time. Another $200 to swarf.
No, I haven't got it running yet. I discovered that I had run out of safety wire, so I'm not sticking the chambers on until I wire the sump.

I discovered the joiner in the throttle cable on the 250 was broken, meaning my cable lengths were flexible. So I've bought some of the only stock of genuine throttle cable parts left (in the world?) to fix the broken bit and just so I have some genuine spares. You never know, the cable assembly on it is 41 years old, it may wear out soon!

And I've just had the 1.1 out this morning. It will be good to wobble around on too.

A mater from the central coast has an XJ900 ready. He's put race plates on it and got the 'Castrol 6 Hour' stickers from the organisers. It looks really period! Excellent.

Only down side is that there is so many other things going on that I have to choose to miss out on. Can't do more than one thing at a time.

Thankfully it's not long now as I am just busting to get out the track especially with my most recent purchase. . Picked it up not quite 2 weeks ago and have been working on it after work pretty much every day since.

It was set up for flat track racing but i have been changing it back to an enduro style setup. I also picked up an old XR recently so i might chuck it on the trailer as well if I have the room.

Also I took the XJ out for a spin last weekend and it was running great so as I said before I CAN'T WAIT.

trokel... that 510 TE of yours is beautiful... you could (almost) name your price for one of those over here... very sought after/collectable - especially in that condition.

Am pretty much packed and ready to go first thing in the morning however I won't be taking the XR as i just can't fit it on the trailer but that is no real loss as I am sure i will be having toooo much fun riding these two anyway.

Trokel that Husky - so pretty.

You have done a great job with the FJR too - an eclectic collection.

Now THAT'S an understatement. Thief! Remember mate, you've got to sell it to make any money. No more ridey the monster.

I am sure i will be having toooo much fun riding these two anyway.
You should've seen the pain every time he came back from riding the thing. But the grin suggested every ache was worth it.

I didn't catch up with anyone else, Phyllis & Leannie came past, but that was it. The weekend is so full on that there is basically no option to go searching people out unless you're prepared to forgo a session. And that's not gonna happen!

The XS went out for two laps. Just too flaming big to have any real fun on it. And I jumped straight back on the 250. That's better - as the videos may show, when I've edited them. Watch this space.

The LC had yet another failure. Short version is that the water leaked back into the gearbox. Fortunately I parked it before any damage. It seems that the water seal I thought was the problem wasn't the problem. It has a different problem, probably at the water pump. Well, fingers crossed on that one. Give you the drum though, when it was running (and I was at the right revs) it goes like the duck shot up the arse!

Troy & I were both passed by Magoo. I kept up with him.....for about 3 feet. And it is in the video.

I hope the bloke on the Bimota gets to see it. Not everyday a Bimota gets passed by a 42 year old 250 two stroke! On the brakes! so where is the advantage of the discs over my tls front drum? I tried to ride around the outside of him on the left turn on to the bottom straight, just didn't have enough g.o.

Fuck it's fun!

That about sums it up.
