K-Mart have one going for $49 or so. Anyone tried it yet? It has an lcd backscreen to view footage and claims HD res, from memory. Might set up a couple for some onboard front/rear moto Condo footage if they're any good.

Sj4000

Hi guys,

I use SJ400 (90$ + free shipping & with two batteries) from month ago, but I have positive feedback for this cam for the moment. I can show you some clips from this camera. In this case I was not installed the camera very good, but you can see the quality.

Was in Europe last week. Bought a Rollei Action Cam that is controlled by your smart phone. Not as good as a go pro but looks OK. Price around $130 from memory.

Made in China of course and probably available as another brand.

These are shot with a Rotor camera from Aldi on the weekend. Dead set copy of a Go-Pro, even the packaging looks the same. Cost was $45.00 and $20.00 for a 16gig memory card. So far has taken approx 10 vids, all appear ok. Not sure if the Go Pro can shoot upside down or on an angle and auto correct to play the correct way around, but this can't and you have to use a programme of the web to correct it the right way up for viewing.

The GoPro has a feature of its editing suite that inverts the picture when shot upside down. The Aldi looks to have reasonable quality for 1/10th price.

Gopro 2 can be set to inverted on the camera. A second hand gopro would be worthwhile.

High quality video, but the audio is ordinary on a bike. I use a small remote mic from jaycar with good results.
As mentioned above the mount systems are quite good.

Youtube seems to mostly play back 480. but 720 and sometimes 1080 can be selected on the task bar under settings.
Playback on the bigscreen tv is excellent.

Her's some gopro in the snow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-WoI1z19MU

A bloke in the UK does a lot of action camera reviews and it's a great place to start. One of his favourites is the SJ1000 can be found on eBay from $60 and the SJ4000 Go-Pro clone from $90.

I have one of the Jaycar cameras and was satisfied until I left it in my car on a hot day, it distorted the image on the video recorded and I can't get it back to correct focus. I bought another for my wife in her car and warned her to remove it when parked out in the sun on hot days. She still hasn't used it and probably won't notice it when it goes missing and reappears on the bike.
