I think he was paying attention. He just made the incorrect assumption that the cars in fron of him were going to run the yellow. Not a great plan by any stretch.

Thinking about the original video, if I were given the opportunity to ride a Panigale I would be looking for twisty back roads (or a track), not urban/suburban streets. Horses for courses and all that.

Not that I would expect that dunderhead to have thought that far ahead.

I can't see the light in that close detail, but the oncoming van was already making a left turn in front of the car he was behind
