I refuse to sit by and take this one. As a war veteran, I am now officially tired of the seeming proliferation of idiots who refuse to recognize the sacrifices of our military personnel. Since you seem to think our soldiers are just "government property", I suggest you voluntarily put on a uniform, separate yourself from your family, get yourself out to a war zone or other third world shithole and serve your country. While you're at it, don't forget the possibility of being wounded, killed or worse (in my mind), permanently disabled.

Our soldiers are sacrificing themselves to defend the right of people like you to shoot off your mouth? Learn some respect.

(My apologies to the general board readership...I snapped.)

These guys risk their lives to protect your freedom and now you want to take away theirs.

Or we could just recruit a bunch of sissies who don't do dangerous stuff like this. Lets see how well that works out in combat.

And +1 more to what Jim said.

Enjoying the dogpile here.

SDMichael, you sure you aren't a senior officer or staff Sergeant Major? Uncanny how that was almost word-for-word the kind of mindless-knee-jerk-drivel-substituting-for-lack-of-leadership-ability I'd expect coming from that direction. How many PT belts are you wearing right now?
