Hey Roger,

appreciate the response. The racks you recommend for the top loading pelican cases are the Hepco Becker ones. Which on the 1190 are symmetrical as they place the cases above the exhaust. So it seems that the high exhaust is still an issue and thus require the cases to be mounted even higher. Is this correct?

Cheers,

M

I think the top loaders need to be mounted higher because they are taller cases, but we haven't mounted the side loading cases any higher than normal on this bike and have sold several without issue. This is one of those situation where it may be best to get the cases un-drilled. The backing plate that is provided with our kit serves as a drill template so it is not that difficult to do. Or, just go with the side-loading cases and our liners and be done.

Oh,ok. At least this will give you the general idea on how the positioning works out. I haven't seen ant pics of the top loaders installed on an 1190.

Thinking of getting a set of pelicans for my F650GS twin.

Which bags should I get to make them look symmetrical?

Hello,

The F650GS Twin has a one-sided exhaust, so you'll never really get a symmetrical look. Putting a narrower case on the exhaust side actually makes matters look worse, and you give up capacity. Our cases come as a set with the same size case on each side. The side rack positions the left side out about 1" further than the right. Hope this helps.

2014 Tenere Standard - Top case and rack

Rog,

Maybe this has been asked and I just missed it. I have ordered a 2014 Super Tenere Standard and am hoping your 35L Storm top case and rack will work. Have you had the opportunity to assess this by chance?

I have not checked to ensure there was no difference from 2013. I'll have to get over to the local dealer, but I don't think there is any problem. Can you send me a photo of the rear rack on the 2014? I could probably tell from a photo.

Well, we all know what the switch gear looks like , but as far as the rear tail section it looks just like the 2013 bike, no changes as far as I can tell in the photos. I'll try to get over to the dealer today.

Many thanks! Good luck finding one at the dealer. They seem to be fairly scarce.

I was just at the dealer today and the 2014 Tenere rear tail rack looks just like the earlier ones.

They also had the new V-Storm 1000 sitting right next to the new Tenere. The V-Strom looked smaller than the Tenere. It also had a very clean instrument panel area. Pretty nice bike. No time for test ride today.
