I arrived at the guesthouse in Kara-Kul and when I drove into the yard I was surprised to see another bike there. I found the owner, and when I got showed my place to sleep there was a guy already there... He said "Hi, I'm Steffen and you should be Seb, right?"
That was a fun night of swapping stories. I was slightly dizzy by the end of it, not just from the thin air

Yep... it was a night full of stories!

Remember the Japanese lady just sitting there and waiting for travellers to fill out her questionnaire? That was kind of strange...

Ok SEB! I'll see you somewhere in the Americas! Will you make it south to the Dakar in 2015?

Wow, great!
Do you have any info about this?
As I have zero knowledge about what has happened to the bike after I sold it... And I would like to know... she still has a "place in my heart"... ;-)

Absolutely!
Last August I was also in Bishkek at the end of my tour of three weeks in the Pamirs.
I remember having heard Sambor, with whom I have sent back my bike in Europe, speaking about two bikes from Belgium.
Yesterday, looking at the facebook page of his company while I was planning my next summer, I saw that picture and I immediately recognized your bike

She's on tour in Morocco at the moment...

PS: I also met Steffen in Bishkek, just a few days before you met him in the Pamir I suppose..

The world really is a small place after all!
Thank you for the info, then she's back in Morocco!
I went there for three weeks in sept 2011 with the DRZ... so she knows the place... ;-)

Great RR, thank you so much for writing it! Normally I'm more the lurking kind of reader, but I simply had to write down my gratitude because:
- you're belgian!
- you did that trip with helmets you bought from the store that happens to be my place of work! (made for a good lunchstory at work today ;) )

I'll be eagerly following your next trip on your website.
