Okay, here's a bit of Old School nostalgic history care of ADV's Pay Dirt who sent this along earlier today. Taken by his brother in September 1980 in Quesnel, British Columbia. Apparently he reversed the slide in his scanner.

That's Pay Dirt on the left with his '76 GL1000 LTD, his buddy John in the middle with '78 or '79 XS1100 (they were enroute to California and Mexico for the winter) and yours truly on the right with '78 XS750.

SWEET! Right-hand drive kickstands!

That Excess Eleven would be a '79 if it's dark blue. '78 (intro year) was burgundy.

Dang, and here I thought you were in Kee-beck.

Mirrored the image around for ya, let me know when you've gotten it downloaded and I'll delete it from Ole Baldy's server... <-DONE

Nice nostalgia image. Times gone by. Sigh.

Thanks, Bill. That looks better.

We're from Ontario, but we were visiting Pay Dirt's brother in BC when the photo was taken, though I was living in Calgary at the time. Pay Dirt showed me how to change tires on that trip. I was 18.

Time flies!

Ah, you were just a kid and the only one smilin'. BUT you did know enough to slip a piece of wood under the kickstand when parking on mushy ground, so you weren't a Compleat Noob...

Time. When your bikes were Riceburners and not simply UJMs.

No, not a complete newb. That was my third bike in a year, SR500 and XS650 before that. About a month later, back in Ontario, I traded that XS750 for a '72 Moto-Guzzi 850 Eldorado and a '70 Triumph 650 Tiger (TR650R). A very good trade. Really enjoyed the Guzzi and the Triumph.
