TeT time frame

I been kicking around riding the TET from south to north. Probly do this in two different trips. Probly ride from the Gulf up to TET06 W.V. on the first half. Anyone know how long it would take to ride this part? Im probly gone to ride a WR250R. Not in a big hurry. I figured Id ride 200 mile a day.

TET-S ride time

The TET sections are laid out for an average days riding.

So if you are riding from Carabella to WV, it's 6 or 6 1/2 days.

Each of those days is roughly 200 miles.....

I just looked -
TET01 - 191 miles
TET02 - 191 miles
TET03 - 217 miles
TET04 - 186 miles
TET05 - 180 miles
TET06 - 200 miles
TET07 - 178 miles - Pearisburg VA is about halfway through this day

Some of the days it will be easy to finish on time, some you have to hustle a little more. There is time to stop and take pictures and smell the roses, but not necessarily take a nap!

Thanks
I have an F800GS and a WR250R. Which bike do you think would be more fun on this trip?

Which bike

It can be done on either bike.

The BMW will be easier on the FL, AL and parts of the GA,NC stuff.

The WR will be better on the north GA, western NC stuff.

It probably boils down to how are you getting to the start and home from the finish?

Also, the TET-S stuff has an option to do a loop around GA... the TET-S main route goes through Dillard in the NW corner of GA, while the SL loop also connects Carabelle FL to Dillard GA - but across north FL, and up the border of eastern GA/western SC. 4 Days for that too.

Since you are heading northbound, that wouldn't work. The main TET-S route is a little better getting from Carabella to Dillard.

But, if you are transiting down to ride the TET-S, and you have the time, you could start in Dillard, go south down the SL to Carabella then back north on TET-S back through Dillard up to WV. GREAT fun! It would take about 10 days.

If I take the 800 I'll ride slab from Pittsburgh down n ride the trail back up. If I take the wr I'll truck to south W.V. for this trip.

TET Ride Report

Rode the TET-S from North GA down to Carabelle, FL a few years ago, and loved it.

I'd like to start planning a trip to cover the entire TET. Anyone know of anyone who has completed the entire TET from one end to the other? And wrote a ride report? Did some searching, but couldn't find anything.

I have not completed the entire TeT, but I did do 1200 miles of it last year. I was riding my KTM 990, and did not use any of the big bike bypasses. The section across northern GA was the most difficult section. The 800GS should be able to do it, depending on the tires (knobbies highly recommended) and how capable you are. The little bike probably wouldn't have much difficulty.

The RR is linked in my signature (The Mountains are Calling, and I Must Go)

For some, a glue stick would be a better option than Chapstick

Me and a buddy just did everything but the section to W.V. this past week. We did around 1850 miles and knocked it out in 5 kinda long days. Anyways We made it from Ellijay Georgia down to Carabelle Florida in two days without much of an issue. I was riding a CRF250L and my buddy was on a DRZ 400, seems to be perfect bikes for this trail.

Enjoy it man, you'll have fun.
