well guys after much consideration I have changed my mind on running this event. I found an event going on at windrock TN the same weekend and I can run the 250/990 without any issues and should be pretty challenging. I really want to run the hanging rock but im not changing my 250 over to legal for a weekend. im not against the rules or anything I just don't have the equipment and never riding there doesn't help justifying me decision.

I wanted to do the adventure ride pretty bad on the 990 but I think from judging by what people said I will find it boring. keep in mind I ride my 990 like my 250, its bigger but its still a dirt bike in my book. I wanna be jumping stuff, tackling med size logs, rocks and crazy stuff but mud...
maybe next year or at some point I can make it out and see what the Zazz is about. you guys have fun and post some pics and vid so I can get an idea of what I may be riding at some point.

It wouldn't be "for a weekend", there is really no good reason not to plate a dirt bike, since once you do it you could run any event you wanted to...

well my 250sx is my race bike, and I don't attend to many non closed course events. so its not really worth the money.

if the cops know that an event is going on for a charity/good cause then why do they hassle riders at all? kind of defeats the purpose and loses money towards charity/event. I figure if every one rides respectfully you should be able to ride plated or not. again that's my opinion.

They better have a tow rope or winch handy too.

Ride update

All the route cards are in, courses marked and one more cabin left.
The weather forecast is good and both my bikes are running strong! Does it get any better?

Routes

I was interested in doing this but a few other things fell through and I'll have family in from out of town in this weekend. Are there .gpx files available or route maps for the ADV portion of this? Is it possible to do this ride at another time or are some of the track portions on private or closed roads only opened up for the event?

This is a general answer to a specific question. BDS is a club that rides and supports some charities. One is the Zaleski VFD and scholarships at Vinton County high school. The moneys over cost goes to those charities. I know a number of clubs who do this for love of the sport and the good will our donations create for sport.

The dualsport routes are undoable except as part of the ride due to permits and permissions. I hope folks understand that to give away the clubs ADV work while others are participating and contributing just does not seem right to me.

I'd be willing to make a donation to the cause for the opportunity but if the preference is not to make available the routes then I understand. Thanks for the response. Hope the weekend goes well and all remain safe. Maybe next year.
