L.A. help?

Greetings California ADVers! I have some good news and some bad news. Bad news is two of us Midwestern ADVers will be venturing into your state, no doubt acting as foreign and out of place a vegan at a Texas BBQ joint. While visiting I'll do my best not to offend anyone, except vegans, they don't count. The good news is I hope to be in and out of California in less than a day, and your advice will get rid of me and the wife as fast as possible!

I'm coming in via Amtrak to buy a truck from a guy (8.30am arrival). Transaction has been pretty smooth, by when it came time to ask him to pick us up at Union Station you would think I asked for his first born. He lives in Winettka, and I need to find the best way to get from Union Station to his place, or at least close. He said if I can get to Chatsworth he will pick us up to there. I am completely unfamiliar with L.A. and the public transportation system, and looking at the route maps on a small phone screen is a bit confusing. Probably due in large part to how tiny Cleveland and our public transport system is in comparison to L.A. Any advice would be appreciated. If for some reason you had nothing better to do on a Saturday morning than pick up a fellow inmate and give us a lift I wouldn't say no to the offer.

you can take the ventura county metrolink line from union station to chatsworth.

ETA: the ventura county line doesnt run saturdays, but the antleope valley one does, that will get you to burbank, before heading in the wrong direction, then youll have to cab it or something like that.

From Union Station to Chatsworth qualifies for a newborn, yes .

Looks like you can get there via transit, I set the website for tomorrow and it gave me this, hope this helps.

So I'm reading red line to orange line, and 2.5 hours right? Or a cab from Burbank, which I bet would be quite expensive.

I can get you from Burbank to Winnetka. Is it just you?
Only have a single cab, but three could fit if needed.

Big thanks to Johngil, he got us there about 2 hours faster than the transit system, and a cab would have been about $100! The extra time came in handy when we had some hiccups at the bank, and we were able to be on the road by noon! Had we not gotten there early the bank may have closed before we ironed out the hiccup (which was mainly the seller not understanding that a cashiers check is guaranteed, especially if the issuing bank verifies it).

Mala Bunny even had a crack at driving the beast last night:

Yes, sorta. The box is going, and the wheelbase will be shortened. It will get a 14 foot flatbed that we need for our business. When it's time to play though a 14' flatbed and that huge cab can haul a bunch of bikes and 3-4 people across country. The interior is huge, and the rear seat fold out into a bed. Maybe a roof tent.
