Continuing on down these awesome little roads until we reach our much anticipated rest for several days in the back country.

We road mile after mile of this just surreal motorcycling....

Hmmmm.....

She really did take 1600 photos.....

So if you are getting tired of this stuff, I have some photos of interstates somewhere in my files NOT!!!

Baby bear.....

Momma Bear.....

Remember Poppa Bear was back there at Yokums, where I thought I killed the dog? You know that story I guess...Poppa Bear was actually a scapegoat, the farmer claimed he was killing sheep and goats??? There was a cover-up and Poppa Bear was blaimed for the herd numbers dropping. The truth is that the herd was escaping and going up the road to another farm over toward Elkin because of what was happening to them....well...remember we actually had a photo of that going on even this very day of the goat I did not see....I cant tell the whole story since this ain't Jo Mamma....

OK...we get to our destination for a few days I have to plug this awesome place...

Driveway in and now they have a total of 3200 acres I think it is...

Yeah, tired old man from dodging all those bears. You know, we deserved a few nice days and did not spend much for accomodations on a number of days soz we could enjoy some time here and enjoy we did

Terrible aint it

Beer time

Ok, I am just going to share a few shots of this place to make your mouth water...

Nothing like a Virginia Country morning

They have a few suites here where the bedroom is actually in the old silo...cool!

This is funny

It like the whole place and anywhere you look or go its like a Zen Garden

Cabin accommodations are really nice

This art is from an Asheville artist I think

Food served here was awesome!

Private river and trout fishing at its best...

Old goat can still ride

Of course I cant keep up with the speedster

Ok,,,just one selfie in case you meet us at a rally or something....

She is fast on foot too....gone to the rabbit patch

mtngal is really good with her camera

Our gracious hosts and owners were just the best. Such nice wonderful and down to earth people. Really special people and it shows in what they have done here. If you want the ultimate in a nice place to stay, this is it. Reserve well in advance though...

We did not want to leave but time required us to go so at the little road out of the valley, we have to decide where next?

More to come....

Well, we begin working our way home but since we are in the middle of heaven, there is still some really great riding on the return...here I need to fill up the beemer on some good old leaded gas...this thing will run on anything...seriously...I have had to buy or beg gas from farmers on other trips that was stored in gallon milk jugs and it still runs

More sucky stuff for your eyes....

Now what? I wanted to go straight...

Bath house I guess

Forgot our golf clubs...

They all came out and applauded us as we drove up

Home of Slammin Sam

And now back to our regularly scheduled program!!!!

I actually thought about making an offer but I am tractor poor now...

Yeah OK, we decided to ride a short section or two on the way in to avoid otherwise disgusting routes...

This critter belongs to my daughter and we stopped in Lynchburg to see her overnite....

Damp today as we pass a lot of old cars

Nice place!!!! Good food and wine!

Back in the old North State

Sky squirrel welcomes us home

And so does our favorite bud....

Hope you enjoyed this report and thanks for comments. Till next time or maybe a ride with us as well......

A special thank you to my friend Jim Ford for sharing some of his hidden roads with me and telling us about Fort Lewis Lodge.

Thanks for sharing.

Been awhile since I checked up on this one, great pix!

I keep telling the wife we need to move down that way, thanks for the ammo for my argument.

The lodge looks like one hell of an escape, beautiful place.

Stay safe.

You're in New Jersey? How much ammo could you possibly need?

However, Aarrff is very good at finding the beauty in our area.

I love riding out west, but you sure have some pretty country with lots of history.
Thanks for posting.

I think it's a huge advantage here that we have lots of shade and if you're feeling overheated you can always find water to cool off with. I like seeing trees and bushes and all the lakes, and rivers with actual water in them.

Thanks slowpoke69! We'd love to have you and the wife! If I could ride everyday of the year, I think I could do a different ride each day in this general area. But,I like new scenery too so me and mtngal going west soon as we get a chance for a few weeks...pretty stuff there too!

Hey DADODIRT! I like it west too. Was out in Big Bend last year and some great GS stuff down there along the Rio Grand. I had no idea that Texas had such incredible mountains and nice pavement down there and over around Terlingua too so we are headed that way again asap. Whats your favorite western route? Colorado, Utah, no end to it in this country! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Pat! The Asheville Club is having their annual High Pass Boogie this Saturday...going? 405 miles of curves, starts 7am, ending in a bash of BBQ! Benefits BRP. We were going but too many other conflicts. All day ride if you do it all. I think they have 60 or so signed up but I am sure a lot of them will take a short cut to the pork which is expected...

This weekend is booked. I have a choice of Sunday rides, Friday events, and work to do Saturday.

Favorite route? I try to have fun on all of them.
Mostly know Western Colorado and Eastern Utah.
Arizona and New Mexico are close, too.
Got down to Baja for the second time this past winter.
Big Bend is on the list. Maybe this winter?
It's all good, but I can see myself retiring somewhere greener and warmer. But that's a long ways away.
Cheers.

I love the different eye candy of the western states and always enjoy a visit but there is something special about the lush green area like Geeeze said...always nice to come home. Ride safe!

Thanks for taking a look. It always makes me feel the reports are enjoyed when folks say something or just a Howdy...glad you enjoyed them. Got several more little trips to catch up on here but most are only one or two day outings....maybe have some up in a few days.

Aarffin...You went right past my farm on 61 as you are heading to RockyGap.....
The Nebo church is 5 miles past my place..And The back of the Dragon is 12 miles from me....
You both could have spent the night here...
Too bad ..Maybe next time....

You also past my old place in BlueGrass Va....
