Muffler inlet area needs some sort of heat shield.

Just Throwing It Out There..

For USA folks looking to run a cat-less header pipe (Arrow, Remus) with an after-market canister:

I'm told USA KTM dealers have acccess to easily downloaded, Euro-spec fuel maps for the Adventure 1190, which would eliminate the lean fueling and engine heat issues on a USA bike (equipped as mentioned above) and would consequently protect exhaust valves from heat damage, as well.

Thoughts?

Hey Guys

THose of you that run the Akrapovic slip on can you just let me know if the sound is a good sound, i have viewed some Youtube and it sounds muffled not sport at all.

Actually my stock pipe sounds better more throaty..
If i buy this pipe will i be removing the baffles to clear its throat.
My problem is i have not listened to a live 1190 with the Akra.
Im unable to make an informed decision...

Sure looks good...but looks isnt everything...

Carbon fiber slip-on

Hi!!.

Do you know if there is a carbon fiber slip-on?. I mean a complete slip-on, not only the final cone. It's a matter of heat. My wife says she feels the exhaust heat and in other bikes I've had with a carbon fiber canister, it stays at a lower temp than a metallic one.

Thanks.

Well I'll be dangled, I emailed LV USA last month and they told me there weren't any plans for a 1190R model. Very nice! I have a Barrett waiting to be fitted when I get back north to my bike.

That Leo Vince looks cheap and nasty to me.
I think it just doesnt suit the bike for my liking..

As I said above, the Arrow pipes do not come with a rear cylinder downtube. You will have to use the factory one.

I also recorded the sound with and without the stock headers. At idle it sounds about the same but with a bit of throttle the volume definitely increases. You can see it on the decibel meter. The test is not very accurate as it is in an enclosed building but you can see the comparison. The long DB killer with spark arrestor was installed in both tests. The only difference is the front pipes.

You might want to prove that statement with a video and some sound.
