Always miss being in the keys during May when the weedlines develop

John, you do know when you have the schoolees hovering around the boat you want to leave one hooked outside the boat

That'll help keep the school intact around you

My Dad used to use a hundred pound leader with a gold barbless spoon tied onto a mop handle

And just yank'em right in one after another

Got to where I used to troll ballyhoo rigged with a plastic head

The little planers on the side would keep the bait from spinning

Look here:

Yes, I know about keeping one in the water on the schoolies. Caught about 30 in 5 minutes a few years ago. We were pulling rigged ballyhoo with skirts. We had 6 lines in the spread. I need some out riggers next.

Going back to Savannah in August for the wahoo bite. Trying to go to the Gulf of Mexico next month. Maybe Gulf Shores, AL.

Nice dolphin! Just one more thing I miss about being stationed in Key West for almost 5 years.
Caught from my 95ft sport fisherman, err I mean patrol boat back then. Somewhere out around Dry Tortugas....

55lbs, and not fit to eat - worms and the meat was all fatty and nasty.

It was fun up to the point that the other crew that were fishing landed some other fish much quicker, then headed down to the mess deck for lunch while I fought that bull for another 20 minutes or so and hoped the crew saved me some food for lunch.

Bit the bullet today and bought another canoe

Wenonah sandpiper

At only 38 pounds it's going to be so much easier dragging around

I want a sit-in kayak. I like the one John has, a Heritage Featherlite 9.5.

It's stable and easy for me to lug around. I'd like to find another one.

How far do you plan on getting drug around after hooking a big redfish in the flats?

Most always have a good anchor along while paddling salt water

Y'all need to plan a trip over to paddle the river this summer

I've got extra kayaks

I weighed my 1969 Monark 17 1/2 footer one time when I was using it a lot in New Orleans....... 97 lbs. Sheesh.

That 's part of the reason it's registered and fitted for a 2 hp Evinrude.

I need to look into a modern kayak.

Alan - what have you been hearing about the Six Flags park? From what I can decipher, it could be right in your front yard...
