I think this is yet another Marquez track.

1. Marquez, This is when we realize he is indeed rewriting the record books.
2. Lorenzo maintains his mojo, but only just
3. Rossi, working hard to get third, able to hound Marc and Jorge for only a handful of laps, but does stay closer. Inch, by inch...

4. Pedrosa, still no go. Rumors of Stoner's return to claim his slowing seat cast Dani into depression. He wakes in the gutter with a bottle and his arm around a stuffed bunny.

The rest? There are no other "Factory teams so nobody else is playing on the same field. The satellite Hondas and Yamahas don't have the riders to ride them to the front. Not for a complete race. Bautista is quick, but not Sharp end quick, early enough or long enough to be there in the end. Hopefully he has ridden beyond his gravel-grooming days. Bradl? More tossing into the weeds. Pol? Slithering himself out of a ride one binned bike at a time. Smith? Slow and steady into the back.

For the future of MotoGP, the bikes need to slow down. To do that Honda has to be beaten at the table into a rev limit. Slippy tires would hurt too many. Only the young and dumb would be willing to risk the highsides.
And racing has to maintain costs. Note that doesn't mean cheap. Not at even the back of the grid levels.
That means builder bikes. Buy a motor, build a chassis. Spec, tires, ECU and limits on suspensions, brakes, fuel and weight.
That's why there is a rule book to lay all this out.
Looks a little more like F1.

2015, Stoner returns to the Repsol Honda team aboard Dani's bike. He has a special deal. H never has to talk to or look at any press, or ever appear in public other than to ride. A more colorful Stig on two wheels, though with less personality.

Marquez ignores him. Goes by him like he's painted on the fence.
Stoner re-retires at the end of 2015 goes shrimpin' with Spies.
And it's only Monday morning.
