Thanks, the ol' Cruiser is perfect for getting non-riding friends / wife out to the places we love.

Has 184K on the odo and will be close to 200K by the end of the summer. Doing a big, 40 day loop of CO, UT, CA, OR, ID, MT and WY

Man... I really, really would advise against taking that bike on this trail. Riders much better than I have told me that even a 650 is pushing it in some sections! Give the whole thread a good read before you make that decision....

Looks Great man, I've loved 80's a long long time. Sounds like its just getting broken in. I'd love to set one up expedition style, maybe with a cummins 6bt; or maybe a older W460 Gwagen. I swapped my 91 extended cab 4x4 manual pickup to a 96 4runner 5VZ-FE last year.

My fiance likes it so much she has claimed it as her DD and I've lost usage of it. I'm trying to figure out what to build next.

I agree it would be great Gopro footage. Someone bring a rope. GS 1200 definately a big bike......but I can strap my CRF250X off back just in case I get stuck!

I wanna go and my GS wont take no for an answer.

Good luck then. I took my GS on the trail last year and it was definitely an adventure. I recommend you read my post on the trail and some of the comments/photos by A.M.E. subsequent to my post. I consider myself purdy' darn good and it was very challenging. There are easier parts to the trail, but if you come up from Asheville and start the BRT in Damascus, you will overwhelmed quickly. There are some long sections where you will literally be 6" from sliding/falling down 60-70'.

I wish you happy trails, but maybe do a little more research first so you know what you're getting in to. :-)

Has anyone compared the old version of the route to the new one EC is sending out? I got a copy last year but I'm still waiting for the new version. I have to finalize my plans by Friday and will likely have the use the older version.
