I didn't see anywhere where it states you can't take it off... so take it off and mount it on a port a john

The main rub I have with this study is; What type of information is being collected and how will that collected information be used. I don't take stock in any of those nitwit conspiracy theories but I'm usually pretty skeptical.

From the website:

How will the data be used?
The real-world data collected in this study will be used to look for ways to reduce motorcyclist fatalities and injuries. The data will describe good and bad experiences in detail. These data will be analyzed to develop guidance on topics including: conditions that are present when riders have trouble, actions of other vehicles, evasive maneuvers that are possible, safe rider behaviors, unsafe rider behaviors, the sequence of events that end in a crash or near-crash, and potential countermeasures.

My opinion on Gov intervention and assistance:

No doubt the money to do this study originated from tax payers. And any result of the study will go no where... or will some how affect us negatively in the form of new rules, laws, fees, rising ins rates, etc.

Or in other words:
