TRANSALP gathering in N. C. June 14th.

This is NOT a rally, just a group ride.

Honda Transalp “Gathering”

June 14th.
Rain date June 21st.

The purpose of this ride is to meet up with other Honda Transalp owners who live in North Carolina, but anyone with a Transalp is welcome to join in.

This is a one day ride that will take us into Alleghany County and then to South Virginia and along the New River. We will ride sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway, before dropping down into the back roads of Allegheny County before then head North into Virginia’s Mt. Rodgers National Recreation area.

Several of these roads where used in the past by the Adventure Rider’s Eastern Rendezvous Rally. This is not an official rally, simply a day trip with fellow Transalp owners in our region.

The roads will be a mix of pavement, dirt, and gravel and will be passable with dual sport tires, knobbies are not needed.

We will start our ride from the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Jonesville, N. C. at the I-77N and hwy. 67 exit 82 Breakfast is at 7:30am with the ride immediately after. We will stop for lunch where ever we find ourselves and then work our way back to the starting point.

Total trip will depend on how much off pavement riding we do but should be around 150 miles total.

For more info contact: please send a PM.

I am in! My plan would be to ride up Friday late afternoon and get a motel room for the night. Plan to camp Saturday night someplace and ride the BRP or TET South on Sunday. Anyone who wants to come along is welcome!

There are at least two motels very close by, the Best Western Inn is across from the resturant.

Great, I am keeping an eye on our rain forecast but it should just be hot and humid !

It will be a small group, lot of people are out of town for the weekend or have other commitments.

Transalps - Out and About

Sounds like some good riding. Not worried about any stinking rain. See you guys there.

You might get your wish! I just don't see any reason to head up there when the fog is so thick you can't see the mountains or the deer in the roads, or us be riding along the river and can't enjoy seeing it.

That part of Virginia can get inches of rain over night which really alters these dirt back roads, it's supposed to be fun, not a survival test.

I will make a final call mid Friday morning.
