Recommended camping along the blue ridge

Hey everyone. I'm taking an impromptu trip to Asheville and riding north through Virginia. I am looking for anyone that can recommend scenic, desolate, or otherwise fantastic camping along the blue ridge. Much appreciated!

You riding the Blue Ridge Parkway? I know some places near Asheville if your camping in that area?

Thank you. I think I'll try to get north of Asheville on the second night. I'm going to Asheville tomorrow, riding deals gap and the cherohalah skyway Tuesday and will try to get north of Asheville Tuesday night. So if you know of anything good between Asheville and Virginia, I'd like to know.
Thanks again.

Pretty good camping along the New River in the area of Glendale Springs NC.
If you want a ride that will knock your socks off take Hwy 16 north off the Blue Ridge and go thru Hungry Mothers State Park (good camping) and beyond. One of the better rides I've taken. Some seriously good twisties and very low traffic, plenty of country stores (Amish/Mennonite) with food and fuel.
Blue Ridge is great but you're missing some good riding. Some other favorite camping spots are Foster Falls in VA and Fries VA - close to the BRP but scenic and along water. If you've got the time there are some nice roads along the river in those areas that are state maintained and not paved. Lots of good riding. Brewery in Galax and also camping.
Willville Campground along the Blue Ridge Parkway, as mentioned previously, is quite popular and keeps you on your specified route.

Have fun.

Hey MTR,
Feel free to do a ride report. I am looking to run the blue ridge but not the parkway from Tn to No Va. Would be interested in your trip.

Another vote for Willville. I stayed there for the first time about a month ago and I was very pleased. The campground is beautiful, the bathhouse is very clean, and the central campfire is nice if it gets chilly like it did when we were there, plus you get to meet a whole bunch of moto riders from all over the place.
